BAZNA spa - situated at 320m altitudes, in the northeastern part of Medias city (15km), the spa can be reached by a road which crosses the two rivers of Tarnava, passing through an oak forest, in a very beautiful landscape. The legend of the "burning water" says that a shepherd burned a fire near a spring and the water started to burn, too. Natural gases and salty springs with iodine drew the attention of Transylvanian researchers from the 18th century.

Vlad de Impaler ( Dracul ) was the ruler of Wallachia in the 15th century. Vlad de Impaler ( Dracul ) was born in 1431 in Sighisoara , where his father was going to be crowned the King of Wallachia. The family escutcheon was the dragon, called Draco-Onis in Latin. In Romanian the world “ drac “ means “ devil “. After the publications in 1897 of the novel “ Dracula “ written by the irish Bram Stoker , the name of the prince and the places related to his name became even more famous.
